Dutch Pro - Calmag
Tackles and Deficiencies and Boosts Overall Plant Health
Calcium and magnesium are secondary macro nutrients that play a huge role in plant growth and development. Without adequate levels, plants will simply never reach their full potential. This is a particular problem in softwater areas, where the tapwater has a starting EC lower than the usual level (around 0.4 to 0.7). Adding Calmag is a quick and easy way to correct the situation, and it will keep your plants flourishing.
As plants progress through the bloom phase, the demand for calcium and magnesium goes up, so most growers can benefit from using Calmag at this time, especially if they're adding big doses of PK boosters (phosphorus and potassium).
Calmag is also beneficial for growers in coco. As coco coir breaks down, it can release extra potassium which raises plants' requirements for calcium.
Ample levels of calcium (Ca) helps to maintain the integrity of cell walls.
Magnesium (Mg) forms an integral part of the chlorophyll molecule. This molecule plays a crucial role in the process of photosynthesis - the driver of plants' energy intake. Light energy from your grow light is used to separate carbon dioxide in carbon and oxygen. The carbon is then used to make sugars that form structures. So more magnesium paves the way for improved photosynthesis rates, and in turn, faster all-round growth.
